Canyoning is a recreational sport just like mountaineering or rock climbing. This is the sport carried out in the famous canyons of Zion National Park.

Zion National Park is a famous canyon exploration hotspot, with the world-famous Zion Canyon, subway and other canyons, as well as countless hidden and inaccessible canyons. It offers a wide range of hiking options, from simple family walks to long and difficult day walks through hot desert areas, breathtaking magnificent scenery, lush greenery and narrow canyons, all in a variety of terrains. Although Zion is small compared to other national parks, it offers a variety of backpacking adventures for 2 to 3 days. All hikes highlight the stunning Slickrock sandstone structure in the area.

Great Zion is a landscape full of canyons. Many people like to hike through the vast canyons, but for some, the rewards are even greater. When visitors arrive at the smaller slot canyon, they will discover a new universe full of incredible sights and sounds. Greater Zion has some of the most distinctive canyoning courses.

The traditional way to hike the left fork of Beixi is the top-down method via the subway in Russell Canyon. This kind of "walk" has everything from the magnificent Russell Canyon in the morning to the incredibly beautiful subway section to fun little ropes and swimming. The main disadvantage is that it is difficult to detect the car and manage the multi-step process of obtaining permits in remote areas to complete the trip.

Orderville Canyon is the little-known sister of the popular Zion Narrows, which is a great semi-technical day trip for beginners and professional hikers. It is mysterious, gloomy, rainy, and breathtakingly gorgeous. From a hiker's point of view, this hike is demanding and challenging. From the perspective of a canyon explorer, this is a fairly simple canyon with only two and a half technical obstacles. If you have ever done rock climbing or downhill, this hike is a great introduction to canyoning.

Keyhole Canyon is a beautiful underground slot canyon. It hardly appears on topographical maps, but it is a gorgeous canyon that offers some otherworldly canyon views. Keyhole Canyon is a great place to start canyoning because it offers various technical obstacles and beautiful scenery, and it is short enough that even the most miserable people can leave quickly.

Pine Creek is one of the most famous and challenging canyoning trails in Zion National Park, reflecting the magnificence of the "underground" canyon. Pine Creek is a classic of Zion, with beautiful scenery, charming ropes, pleasant swimming, and reasonable accessibility. However, this course is not recommended for hikers without technical knowledge of canyoning.

Mysterious Canyon is just like that-a deep and gorgeous overhanging canyon that flows into the larger Zion Strait, forming a 90-degree steep curve in the process. This "hike" is one of the peak canyon expeditions in Zion National Park. The entrance is steep and disturbing. The countless ropes in the beautiful deep carving narrow and the two large rock wall ropes near the end attract your attention .

There are two large campgrounds in Zion National Park. One is near the south gate of Springdale and the other is near the main visitor center.

Note: For most of the year, reservations are required for both campgrounds. Competition for places is fierce, so be prepared in advance or risk being turned away.

Hikers of all abilities will find canyoning options in Zion National Park, from small family walks to difficult hikes to isolated vistas. All the excursions are very worthwhile, and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking!
