On Tuesday, the Waukee Police Department found a gun in a student's backpack.

The police received reports that the Waukee Forest School they were investigating was threatened.

School staff told the authorities that a student might have a gun in his backpack. When the police searched the student's bag, they found a pistol.

Waukee police stated that they had not received any threats, and the student claimed that they were holding guns to "protect themselves in matters not related to the school."

The authorities confiscated the gun and sent the student to a juvenile detention center.
